Όπως υπογραμμίζεται σε δημοσίευμα του National Geographic, πρόκειται για ένα εύρημα απίστευτης σπανιότητας, καθώς ελάχιστα είναι τα αρχαία ενδύματα, φτιαγμένα από ίνες φυτών ή δέρματα ζώων, που έχουν γλιτώσει την αποσύνθεση. Τα αρχαιότερα ρούχα που έχουν σωθεί μέχρι σήμερα δεν ξεπερνούν την ηλικία των 2.000 ετών, σύμφωνα με την Άλις Στίβενσον, του Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology και συντάκτρια νέας μελέτης στο «Antiquity».
Στις περισσότερες περιπτώσεις, τα ρούχα τα οποία έχουν διασωθεί μέχρι σήμερα ήταν τυλιγμένα γύρω από σώματα νεκρών- ωστόσο το φόρεμα του Ταρχάν είναι «haute couture», και, όπως υπογραμμίζεται στο δημοσίευμα, δεν θα ήταν εκτός τόπου και χρόνου σε ένα μοντέρνο μαγαζί ρούχων. Η λεπτομέρεια που το χαρακτηρίζει υποδεικνύει εξαιρετικά προχωρημένη τεχνική, που σημαίνει ότι επρόκειτο για εξαιρετικά εξειδικευμένο τεχνίτη – και τέτοιοι τεχνίτες συναντώνται μόνο σε ακμάζουσες κουλτούρες, όπως η αρχαία Αίγυπτος του μακρινού παρελθόντος (5.000 χρόνια πριν), η οποία είχε ενωθεί για πρώτη φορά υπό έναν ηγέτη. Επίσης, κάποιες λεπτομέρειες- ίχνη χρήσης στο ρούχο δείχνουν ότι κάποιος/α το φορούσε κάποτε, και δεν ήταν απλά για τελετουργική χρήση.
Μετά από 5.000 χρόνια σε αιγυπτιακό τάφο, το ένδυμα απεστάλη στο Petrie από αρχαιολόγους στις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα, αλλά ξεχάστηκε μέχρι το 1977, όταν προσέλκυσε ξανά το ενδιαφέρον, καθώς βρέθηκε από ειδικούς συντήρησης. Θεωρείται ότι κανονικά έφτανε μέχρι τα γόνατα, και εκτιμάται πως μόνο οι ανώτερες κάστες φορούσαν τέτοια ρούχα.
Πέρα από την Αίγυπτο, κάποια από τα αρχαιότερα ρούχα που έχουν βρεθεί περιλαμβάνουν παντελόνια των τελών της 2ης πΧ χιλιετίας από την κεντρική Ασία, φούστες των αρχών της Εποχής του Χαλκού από τη Δανία και ένα κομμάτι λινού από την Ιορδανία που θεωρείται πως είναι από την 4η χιλιετία π.Χ. Ωστόσο το φόρεμα του Ταρχάν αποτελεί την αρχαιότερη περίπτωση πολύπλοκου ρούχου- που έχει υφανθεί, αντί απλά να ρίχνεται/ τυλίγεται στον χρήστη του.

Maria Callas, (Greek: Μαρία Κάλλας; December 2, 1923 – September 16, 1977) was a Greek-American soprano, and one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Critics praised her bel canto technique, wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations. Her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini and further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini; and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner. Her musical and dramatic talents led to her being hailed as La Divina.

Of The Delirium Constructions – Skylight One Hanson, 2011
Two years in the making, on May 23rd and 24th of 2011, Sarah Small and collaborators mounted a 120-participant Tableau at the former Williamsburg Savings Bank, now known as Skylight One Hanson. Chosen as one of Time Out New York’s Top Critic’s Picks, and listed in the New York Times, Flavorpill and more, this performance had the attention of many, long before the cast took the stage. Maintaining it’s roots in her still photography series, The Delirium Constructions, and already the most ambitious project of her career, in 2011, for the first time, Small explored, within the Tableau Vivant, a specific social phenomenon: the ritual of marriage. With its airs of pageantry and religious rectitude, wedding ceremonies celebrate the most intimate joining of two individuals in the most public sphere, providing rich fodder for examination within the project’s framework. On the evenings of May 23rd and 24th, Small acted as the legal officiant for three couples (two weddings and a vow renewal ceremony), as she simultaneously directed the attendant Tableau Vivant cast in their own explorations of the theme, mingling performance art with reality in a compelling cocktail.
Small and collaborators received a stellar review from The New York Times and were featured on both the front and back covers of the Sunday Art section of the The Washington Post. Among many others, the event had press in attendance from both local and international media, including Italy’s Virgin TV.
