Dear Sir Arthur…

Dr Watson. Baker Street. Telegram: “Come at once if convenient – if inconvenient come all the same”. The word game and play, many of us recall enjoying among pauses, pages thoughts and whispers, we, as readers at the prospect of strong emotional involvement. All this came to mind, as I have come upon a piece of wrapped, filthy paper I once had archived and long forgotten: “this Agency stands flat-footed upon the ground, and there it must remain. The world is big enough for us. No ghosts need apply…”…. and I have no idea which of Doyle’s lunatic stories does it come from. But there, doesn’t this phrase stand there worth a read?
